Today this depot is served by the Central Kansas Railway. It is a long utilitarian structure which is probably mostly empty. It once no doubt served the Santa Fe very well. Page 54 of Wheat Lines and Super Freights shows an alternate view of this interesting structure while still in Santa Fe use.

The Santa Fe used this depot for some time. It is actually known as Salina Union Station and is located several blocks west of the Santa Fe freight station. It is possible that the Santa Fe actually used the other side of this depot. This may be the Union Pacific side. A photo of a mixed train by this depot can be found in John McCall's Coach, Cabbage, and Caboose on page 137. It is an interesting mixed as the single unit Fairbanks Morse motive power No. 3019 is pulling two Santa Fe refers and a combination car 2641.
