LYONS, KANSAS
Lyons Passenger Service 1942
4:18pm No. 57 Westbound Doodlebug to Ellinwood from Florence
8:33am No. 58 Eastbound Doodlebug to Florence from Ellinwood
Lyons Kansas was home to the Santa Fe, Frisco, and Missouri Pacific railroads. The Missouri Pacific tracks crossed 7/10 of a mile east of the depot while the Frisco tracks crossed 3/10ths of a mile west of the depot. A Frisco conncetion spur was located 2/10ths of a mile west of the depot.

This sad depot is closed and boarded up. Due to its location in the middle of a residential district it will probably never be restored. It is an unusual Santa Fe brick depot as the bay window region is greatly exaggerated. See Wheatlines and Super Freights pages 61 and 62 for more photos of this attractive depot.
