Courtland was the meeting point for train Nos. 73 and 74.
You can quell your sweet tooth at the old Santa Fe depot just North of Courtland on U.S. highway 36. This seasonal Fruit/ Nut/ Craft/ Candy store sells from what I understand are delicious treats. This photo was taken in a freezing cold howling wind in March of 1997.
This is yet another typical Santa Fe frame depot 1895 standard structure. Two photographs of the depot exsit while it was still onsite in McMillian's Wheat Lines and Super Freights page 51. One in yellow paint and another in light blue paint. The depot was located at the North East Quadrant of the Rock Island Santa Fe crossing just southwest of downtown at the crossing.
